Joining Project Pericles represents an opportunity to position your campus at the forefront of civic learning and innovation by becoming part of a prestigious community of colleges and universities committed to democratic purpose. Being part of Project Pericles both enhances your institutional reputation and grants you unique access to concrete resources and opportunities for advancing your school’s educational and civic mission. In particular, members benefit from strategic funding opportunities for faculty pedagogical development and have the chance to collaborate with campus leaders in an intimate, trusted environment to collectively solve shared challenges and scale effective practices.
What Does Joining Project Pericles Look Like?
Operationally, consortium membership is synergistic with existing campus leadership structures, enhancing support for civic learning initiatives. Each member institution designates one to two Program Directors who serve as the primary connection to consortium resources and opportunities.
Program Directors become part of a supportive professional community that includes regular convenings, peer mentorship opportunities, and collaborative programming, such as our Annual Program Director’s Conference, while faculty and staff gain access to grant funding, pedagogical resources, and cross-campus collaboration opportunities. The consortium model recognizes that each institution brings unique strengths and contexts; Project Pericles’ role is to amplify institutional civic learning impact while connecting members to a network of colleges equally committed to preparing students for active democratic participation.
Detailed membership policies and Program Director role descriptions are currently being refined to ensure they serve the diverse needs of the growing consortium, and are available upon request.
How to Join
More information about how to join is expected to be released by January 2026. Currently, membership in Project Pericles requires the nomination of a current institution and is by invitation only. Please contact Sanda (sanda@projectpericles.org) to convey interest in joining.
Note that membership is not required to participate in our Civic Engagement Mini-Grant program.
