The April Periclean (2026)

The April Periclean launches the Impact25 Campaign with the Project Pericles Origin Story, shares highlights from the Compact26 conference, recaps the March Civic Story Lab workshop, and spotlights thought leadership and upcoming events from Pericleans and the field.

Twenty-five years ago, Eugene M. Lang asked a question that still shapes our work today: What responsibility does higher education have to democracy?

It was a provocation then. It’s a test now.

The April Periclean opens with Project Pericles’ origin story and asks how that founding question plays out in the current moment.

The April edition includes:

  • Highlights from Campus Compact’s Compact26 in Chicago, where storytelling, dialogue, and institutional alignment took center stage
  • A Civic Story Lab update, exploring how narrative and engagement work together to drive real impact
  • Thought leadership from the consortium, upcoming events, and what we’re reading.
