The January Periclean (2026)

The January issue of The Periclean launches 2026 with a new national civic learning initiative, the debut of the Civic Story Lab Fellowship, recognition for Board Member and Elon University President Connie Ledoux Book, and a student spotlight on Hendrix alumnus Tejas Soman ’18.

We’re kicking off 2026 with momentum detailed in the January edition of The Periclean. This edition includes:

  • Program Announcements:
    • Announcing a new three-year initiative to scale humanities-based civic learning nationwide.
    • Launching our inaugural National Civic Story Lab Fellowship, supporting seven campus teams doing powerful, place-based civic storytelling.
  • Thought Leadership: Announcing faculty-led sessions at AAC&U
  • Leadership Highlight: Project Pericles Board Member and Elon University President Connie Ledoux Book was named the recipient of CREDO’s 2026 Courageous Leadership Award.
  • Student Spotlight: We caught up with Tejas Soman ’18, a former Debating for Democracy participant from Hendrix College to reflect on how liberal arts–based civic learning shaped his path.
